The 12 best no-show socks for your spring shoes | CNN Underscored (1)

Strutting out in a cute pair of shoes can make your outfit feel polished and start your day off on the right foot. As you put away your winter boots in favor of fashionable spring loafers, mules and slip-ons, you might notice your sock drawer is missing a pair of no-show socks to pair them with. And while you can definitely rock your shoes without them, a pair of socks can help keep your feet dry, combat uncomfortable sweating and sliding and protect your feet from painful rubbing and blisters.

With your feet in mind, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite no-show socks that will stay undetectable and actually stay in place.

True to their name, these Bombas socks were the plushest and most cushioned socks we tried. These socks didn’t budge all-day long, even when slipping in and out of loafers, clogs and sneakers. They also held nice and snug on our feet with no baggy excess fabric bunching up in our shoes.

Looking for a barely-there sock? These ultra-thin Ondo socks are made from organic cotton, making them super breathable on your feet and ideal for wearing with shoes that might be a bit on the snug side. So comfortable they almost felt like a second skin, we also loved the silicone banding across the middle and around the opening of the sock, which made sure they stayed secure through walking, jumping and twirling.

These Pareberry socks were essentially invisible when we wore them with our deep-cut loafers. Both the silicone tabs and the added guard on the heel helped keep these socks in place and saved our feet from uncomfortable friction and blisters.

For just about $3 a pair, you might not expect much from these Wernies socks. While they’re not as plush as the Bombas Cushioned socks, these no-show socks stayed locked on our heel thanks to the three stripes of silicone grip. They might not be best suited for wearing during workouts, but they’ll pair nicely with casual sneakers, boat shoes and slip-ons.

The most comfortable shoes and sneakers, according to fitness and fashion experts

Finding truly no-show socks for ballet flats and pumps can be a real challenge, but these Jarseen liners might be your best bet. Keep in mind, though, that these are liners and not true socks, so don’t expect to feel super plush and cushiony fabric. Instead, these give you just enough of a barrier between you and your shoes to help keep your feet dry and prevent friction. There’s also a delicate flower-shaped grip on the ball of the foot to help keep your feet from sliding inside your shoe.

Sheec has an impressive range of no-show socks with everything from athletic socks and extra low cut socks to ball-of-foot cushions for adding support to your favorite heels. Having a pair of these modal half-socks can make wearing your favorite mules and clogs that much better. Thin enough to wear without adding extra bulk, they'll also help combat sweaty foot sliding as the temperatures warm up.

If you’re looking for no-shows that feel just like your other ankle or workout socks, grab a pair of these Adidas Superlites. These socks don’t come with any silicone grips to keep them in place, but because they’re not as deep cut as other no-shows, we found they still sat securely right under our ankles.

With extra support through the arch, heel and toes, these Gonii socks can easily transition from your casual shoes to your workout sneakers. We loved the bright colors that won’t get lost in our sock drawer and the mesh paneling that left our feet dry and cool after long walks and workouts.

The Idegg socks are kind of a Goldilocks no-show. They don’t sit quite as high as athletic no-shows, but will still give you ample toe and mid foot coverage, which makes them great for anything from casual slip-on shoes to dressier loafers.

These Comrad socks are made with nine silicone grips for an unmovable fit, plus extra cushion at the toes and heels where wear and holes are most likely to creep up. Available in sizes from small to XL, you’ll be able to find socks that fit any pair of feet.

Known for its brightly colored and patterned crew socks, Stance makes vibrant no-shows too. Reviewers praise these socks for being lightweight, comfortable and essentially invisible once you put your shoes on.

Designed to have a custom-like fit, these Feetures socks are made to mold to the anatomy of your feet for a comfortable and blister-free experience. Feetures socks are also made from recycled plastic bottles to create a sock that’s supportive and sustainable.
